According to Christianity Today, the plan to build a replica of the arch of the Temple of Baal in New York City and London has been abandoned and instead, the Arch of Triumph of Palmyra will rise.
They report that, “(t)his was announced by the Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA), which promotes the use of digital imaging and 3D printing in archaeology and conservation.”
Before you jump up and shout Hallelujah, you need to understand that the original Arch of Triumph, in Rome, was built to honor the victory of Titus, when he sacked Jerusalem and destroyed the Jewish Temple in 70 AD. The Arch of Triumph of Palmyra, as well as the Arch de Triumph in Paris and the Washington Arch in New York City, are all copies of the Arch of Titus in Rome.
So… Christians made so much noise about the Arch of Baal going up in New York and London that the promoters decided to scrap that plan and erect instead, an arch that celebrates the sacking of Jerusalem and the destruction of the second Temple…
Let’s all stand up and shout Glory!
David…
