Which Jesus Do You Believe In?

Most Christians believe what they believe for the same reason that a Jehovah’s Witness or a Mormon believe what they believe…

Most Christians believe what they believe for the same reason that a Jehovah’s Witness or a Mormon believe what they believe… they trust their teacher. But, how do you know?

Presbyterians believe that Jesus died only for the elect, those chosen before the foundation of the world… You are born saved, or you are born damned. You have no choice in the matter at all. Baptism is for babies, and speaking in tongues and prophecy are not for today or for you…

Baptists believe you can never lose your salvation and baptism is by emersion… Speaking in tongues and prophecy are not for today or for you…

Methodists believe you can lose your salvation and baptism by sprinkling is okay… Speaking in tongues and prophecy are not for today or for you…

Charismatics and Pentecostals believe you may choose to believe in Jesus or not, Baptism is by emersion, you can lose your salvation, and speaking in tongues and prophecy are for today…

How do you know, and does it really matter?

Only those who read their Bibles, study and pray can know for sure!

FINAL AUTHORITY

Satan loves, absolutely adores, Bible verses ripped from context and half-truths…

2 Corinthians 11: 12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Thirty something years ago, I was an English Teacher in a school in Queretaro, deep in the heart of Mexico. A few blocks from my school was a large Catholic Seminary. A couple of young priests, teachers in that Seminary, who had dreams of becoming priests in a church in the United States, became my best students. One of them explained, “A vow of poverty in the United States is not the same thing as a vow of poverty in Mexico!”

Being invited to lunch at the Seminary, on multiple occasions, led to discussions on theology, doctrine, and Christianity. Sometimes we had friendly debates that went on for hours. Eventually, we decided to talk about football and not theology. We concluded that having a different authority made those conversations impossible.

Let me explain. When I would say, “The Bible says…” they would answer “But Pope Schmidt said…” Or  “But the Church Council at the Beach said…” When they said “Pope Jones said…” I would answer “But the Bible says…” For me, the Bible was the final authority in all things. If the Pope said something that contradicted plain Scripture, the Pope was wrong. For them, if what the Pope said contradicted plain Scripture, the Bible was wrong. At that level, there is no meaningful communication.

For many Evangelicals, the final authority is their preacher, their denomination, or a certain Televangelist. For others, it is a voice in their head that they have identified as God. Still others have concocted an absolute doctrine based on a handful of Scripture verses, isolated and devoid of context. Whatever their authority, any Scripture that challenges that authority is wrong and the one who preaches it is their enemy.

As Bible believing Christians, we may argue over interpretations of Scripture. Our arguments are different… We compare Scripture with Scripture. Often, we pull in alternate translations  and understandings of Hebrew or Greek words. Sometimes we go back to the old commentaries and see what the old Bible scholars had to say about a passage. In the end, we may still disagree, but the Bible remains our final authority. Most often, our arguments are on peripheral issues and not in matters dealing with Salvation. A Baptist and a Methodist may argue over sprinkling or emersion, but in the end, that is not a salvation issue.

Sometimes, or perhaps often, our arguments are over semantics. We are simply using different words to express the same thought. Sometimes it is language. As an outside example, one man can argue that the word “ya” means yes. His friend may insist that “ya” means already. They are both right, but one is translating German and the other Spanish. “Ya” means already in Spanish, but yes in German. So many of our debates are based on different understandings of words. I think that I understand the word “all”. When I begin to talk with a Calvinist, I quickly come to understand that to the Calvinist, the word “all” means “all who have been predestined to be saved.” We are both quoting Scripture, but to me, the language of Scripture is to be taken in its most common understanding. To the Calvinist, words mean what John Calvin said that they mean. Such things can lead to some very silly sounding conversations.

Whatever you believe, you must understand that for me, Scripture is the ultimate authority. Even the voice in my head that identifies itself as “God” is subject to Scripture. Even Scripture must be taken in context and Scripture must always be compared to other Scriptures…

Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and many have mistaken the Light of Lucifer for the Glory of God. Satan loves, absolutely adores, Bible verses ripped from context and half-truths… Satan will call himself “God” or “Jesus” or the “Holy Spirit” and he will quote a verse, misinterpret it, and question it… The biblically ignorant Christian, like Adam and Eve in the Garden, is fair game, and Satan has stolen many souls with his questions and his blatant eisegesis… For me, everything must pass the Scriptural test and Scripture must be taken in context and compared with other Scripture.

If every time I quote Scripture, you answer “But I think…” or “But I believe…”, our conversation will end abruptly. If I make the voice in my own heart pass the test of Scripture, please understand that I cannot accept the voice in your head as an authority and that I am convinced that even if you identify that voice as God Almighty, if what you say contradicts plain Scripture, I will reject it and call you deceived…

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Really!!!

On a False Gospel Meme

A FALSE GOSPEL MEME

Yesterday, I put up a meme on Facebook that proclaimed a false gospel. Under the meme I asked how many people had heard that message in their churches. I was looking to find out how wide this apostasy has spread. Boy did I get the message…

The comments under the meme started coming, “Amen, Brother, preach it!” and “Amen, I believe it!”

That was not the response I expected under a meme proclaiming a false and apostate message.

The meme read…

If you pay your tithe,
raise your hands,
sing loudly
and tithe,
God will make you wealthy and
take you to Heaven when you die.

I have news for you…

You can go to church every week until you die.
You can raise your hands,
Sing more loudly than anyone else
Pay a double tithe,
And go to Hell when you die…

If you want to go to Heaven…

You must believe in Jesus,
Not just any Jesus,
Not the Jesus your preacher dreamed up in his head,
Not the Jesus of your imagination,
The Jesus of the Bible.
You must know that Jesus personally,
You must deny yourself,
Take up your cross
(Don’t worry, it will kill you dead)
Fix your eyes on Jesus
And follow him.
You must agree with God
That what He calls sin
Is sin
And what He calls an Abomination,
Is an Abomination.
You must confess your sins
And ask for forgiveness.
You must be washed in the Blood of the Lamb
And made clean.
You must trust in Him
And in Him alone
For your Righteousness.
You must walk away from your
Sinful lifestyle.
And walk in holiness.

That is the way to Heaven as presented in Scripture… If you know Him, you will do these things. If you do not do these things, it is a sure and certain sign that you do not know Jesus.

That is truth!

When I was growing up, we had an altar call for Salvation, Repentance and Rededication… in every service.
1. Sunday Morning
2. Sunday Night
3. Wednesday Night.

It did not matter what the topic of the Pastor’s sermon, it always ended with a call to repentance, righteousness and salvation… Sinners felt the conviction of the Spirit… You could watch them squirm…

You know what is sad, It has been more than ten years since I have seen an altar call for repentance, righteousness and salvation…

More than that, I have gone to church with unconfessed sin in my life and walked out, an hour and a half later, with the same unconfessed sin and never felt the slightest twinge of conviction… God always dealt with me later, but nothing I heard in church would have ever brought conviction to my sinful soul…

Folks, if preachers refuse to call people to repentance, if they refuse to even tell people what the Bible says about Salvation, Heaven and Hell, if they continue to refuse to preach against sin, not only is this nation damned, pretty near every single person in this nation will be damned.

That is the truth…

Think about it.

GOD IS GOING TO KILL US:

Yes, God is in Control and He will fulfill his Word. He will send “Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword, to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity.”’

PROPHECY IN CONTEXT

Dr. David A. Rice

2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

What American Christian has not heard that verse ad nauseum?

Let us here do what almost no one ever does… Let us look at that verse in context.

This is at the dedication of Solomon’s Temple and God says that He has heard their prayer and that He has accepted that place as a place of sacrifice.

12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.

Secondly, God makes a statement that would shock and sicken many American Christians and pastors, should they ever read it… In a religious environment where all good things are credited to God (even if the “good thing” is unscriptural) and everything bad attributed to the Devil, this verse would leave many Christians with their heads under their pillow, trembling…

13 If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people,

Then comes the verse American Christians have claimed as their own…

14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

May I note that, with few exceptions, even Christians in America who love to quote this verse have never humbled themselves, or sought Gods Face, or turned from their wicked ways…

Just an observation…

This is followed by a passage in which God makes an acceptance speech…

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. 17 As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep My statutes and My ordinances, 18 then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’

The American Christian loves this kind of passage… They underline all the “Forevers” and the “Nevers” and never even see the “If” clauses…

How many times have I been emphatically reminded that “God said ‘FOREVER’”, when the very next verse starts with the awesome little word “IF”? Go back in this short passage and note first, the words like “forever” and “perpetually” and then go back and carefully read the “IF” clauses…

Next comes the part that no modern preacher in his right mind would ever read from the pulpit, let alone preach on…

19 “But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot you from My land which I have given you, and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21 As for this house, which was exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22 And they will say, ‘Because they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them from the land of Egypt, and they adopted other gods and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this adversity on them.’”

Unfortunately, Israel choose the second option and received the curse and not the blessing…

On the 9th of Av in 587 BC, Nebuchadnezzar, whom God referred to as “My servant” destroyed that Temple, killed the priests and flattened Jerusalem.

God told Jeremiah that He was going to destroy Israel. The prophet argued with him saying:

13 But, “Ah, Lord God!” I said, “Look, the prophets are telling them, ‘You will not see the sword nor will you have famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place.’”

God answered:

14 Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds.

They had become so evil that when Jeremiah tried to pray for them, God said:

Jeremiah 15:1 Then the Lord said to me, “Even though Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people; send them away from My presence and let them go! 2 And it shall be that when they say to you, ‘Where should we go?’ then you are to tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord:

“Those destined for death, to death;
And those destined for the sword, to the sword;
And those destined for famine, to famine;
And those destined for captivity, to captivity.”’

Then, on or about the 10th of Av, 587 BC, Jeremiah walked the Streets of Jerusalem. In Lamentations chapter 2, we read his commentary:

20 See, O Lord, and look!
With whom have You dealt thus?
Should women eat their offspring,
The little ones who were born healthy?
Should priest and prophet be slain
In the sanctuary of the Lord?
21 On the ground in the streets
Lie young and old;
My virgins and my young men
Have fallen by the sword.
You have slain them in the day of Your anger,
You have slaughtered, not sparing.
22 You called as in the day of an appointed feast
My terrors on every side;
And there was no one who escaped or survived
In the day of the Lord’s anger.
Those whom I bore and reared,
My enemy annihilated them.

Then the Prophet looks at the survivors and cries:

13 How shall I admonish you?
To what shall I compare you,
O daughter of Jerusalem?
To what shall I liken you as I comfort you,
O virgin daughter of Zion?
For your ruin is as vast as the sea;
Who can heal you?
14 Your prophets have seen for you
False and foolish visions;
And they have not exposed your iniquity
So as to restore you from captivity,
But they have seen for you false and misleading oracles.
15 All who pass along the way
Clap their hands in derision at you;
They hiss and shake their heads
At the daughter of Jerusalem,
“Is this the city of which they said,
‘The perfection of beauty,
A joy to all the earth’?”

Did you get that?

14 Your prophets have seen for you
False and foolish visions;
And they have not exposed your iniquity
So as to restore you from captivity,
But they have seen for you false and misleading oracles.

This is America today. As I write this, it is Saturday. Tomorrow morning, all across America, Pastors will look out across their congregations and assure their flock that God is in control and everything is going to work out well…

“GOD IS IN CONTROL”

Yes, God is in Control and He will fulfill his Word. He will send “Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword, to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity.”’

WASH ME JESUS…

When you realize just how naked, sinful, and dirty you are, you will cling to the cross and fix your eyes on Jesus…

The Simple Gospel

How distracted we become when we take our eyes off Jesus. Lucifer loves to mess with Christians. How many Christians have fallen by the wayside, consumed with the unimportant and the trivial. How very large and important can the peripheral appear in the light of Lucifer.

You are a sinner, lost and bound for an eternity in Hell. Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, died on a cross and shed his Blood for your sin. He was made sin for you, in order that you, through him, might become the righteousness of God. This salvation is offered freely but you must accept the conditions…
• You must believe.
• You must repent.
• You must agree with him that you are a helpless sinner.
• You must take up your cross.
• You must follow him.
• You must endure to the end.

If you are saved, the doctrine of “Once saved, always saved,” is a stupid peripheral… No one who is saved asks how much sin they can get away with and still go to Heaven… Such questions are unthinkable to the man with a cross on his back and his eyes fixed on Jesus.

No saved person would ever consider grace as a license to sin. Hyper-Grace is an offence to the one who loves God. Grace is what saved that man from Hell. Grace is what made him pure. Grace is what set him free from the power of sin… grace could never be permission to live a lifestyle that is offensive to the God who saved him.

My friend Jim, is not consumed with the idea that I must call him James because his mother did. Jesus is not concerned that you call him Yeshi because his mother did or Yeshua because the Rabbi did… The man who is in love with Jesus knows that his Savior is not concerned with such trivia…

The fellow with the cross worn blisters on his back does not worry about the Ten Commandments and he has no illusion that he has the power to keep any of them. That cross tends to get heavy and you find that you are staring at Jesus… You cannot commit adultery or kill your neighbor with a cross on your back and your eyes fixed on Jesus… You never think about the Law or it’s consequences. You think about Jesus, you go where Jesus goes and you do what Jesus does… It ain’t words on a rock, it is the Rock of your Salvation. Your Sabbath is not a day but a man… you rest in Jesus and you carry on…

It is hard to be consumed with the shape of the earth… the road to Heaven goes straight up and it is covered with the blood of the saints… Your back will bleed under the weight of that cross…

Jesus is concerned with the salvation of your neighbors and family. If you follow him, that burden will pass to your shoulders…

If your mind is filled with trivia, you will not care for the souls around you. You will not love God or your neighbor… Distraction is such a powerful weapon of the enemy…

When you realize just how naked, sinful, and dirty you are, you will cling to the cross and fix your eyes on Jesus… The Hymnwriter wrote, “Wash me Savior lest I die…” when you understand that, deep within your soul, the rest of the garbage will fade away…

Nothing but the Blood… Nothing but the Blood.

David…

FIGHTING TEMPTATION

Some people just love rules… but Christianity is not about rules… Christianity is all about Jesus…

I REMEMBER FIGHTING LUST.

As a young man, I had a terrible fight with lust and sexual sin. I remember sweating and crying and calling out to God for strength to fight temptation. I even remember screaming at God on occasion…

I remember yielding to temptation and then weeping in agony of soul over my sin…

I remember thinking that it is impossible to obey the commandment… the harder I tried to obey, the more I prayed for strength, the stronger the temptation became…

I know that, while your besetting sin may be different than mine, you can identify with my struggle…

But, now I know. I was right, it is impossible and the harder you try to obey the Law the stronger the temptations grow… That is an accurate observation. That is undeniable truth.

Paul tells us, in 1 Corinthians 15:56, that the Law is the power of sin. In other words, trying to obey the Law makes sin stronger…

In other words, trying to obey the Law makes sin stronger…

However, Scripture gives us the secret to victory!

Those who are led by the Spirit are not under the Law…

When I took my eyes off the Law and fixed them on Jesus, I found freedom from sin for the first time in my life! When I stopped concentrating on the rules and started to follow Jesus, temptations lessened, and I found myself free to obey… The harder I followed after Jesus, the less I fought with lust and sexual sin…

When I began to deny myself… when I took up my cross and started to follow Jesus, the girls who used to tempt me so badly almost disappeared… I just didn’t notice them anymore… My mind was on higher things, bigger things, better things…

It is a secret that will set you free! Jesus has freed you from the Law of sin and death…

It is a truth set in stone. The more you try to obey the law, the stronger the temptation becomes. The closer you get to Jesus as a living, breathing person, your friend, confidant and big brother, the weaker temptation becomes…

Some people just love rules… but Christianity is not about rules… Christianity is all about Jesus.

Let me share something… Jesus does not steal, fornicate or commit adultery. If you follow Jesus, you won’t do those things either. But it isn’t about following the Law, it is about hiding yourself in the one who fulfilled the whole law and died to set you free…

Follow Jesus… Just follow Jesus.

David…

THE ANTICHRIST WILL BE A JEW.

“This mock Christ will be ‘received’ by Israel. The Jews will be deceived by Him. They will believe that he is indeed their long-expected Messiah.”

“THE ANTICHRIST WILL BE A JEW” I do not know if that is true or not, but I do know that he will be accepted by the Jews. Two of the more famous Rabbis in Israel have spoken of Donald Trump as either the Mashiach or the one who will usher in the Mashiach… They make it clear that their theology does not require the Mashiach to be a Jew. From their writings, it is clear that their description of the Jewish Mashiach matches perfectly with the New Testament descriptions of the Man of Sin.

The following is the argument that Antichrist will be Jewish. Even if you reject that, the Scriptures quoted and the arguments given support my thesis that the Jews will accept him as their messiah.

Arthur W. Pink, 1886-1952, was a well-known English Bible Teacher and Theologian. He was trained at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago but lived and ministered in the UK. Rev. Pink wrote the following…

The Antichrist will be a Jew, though his connections, his governmental position, his sphere of dominion, will by no means confine him to the Israelitish people. It should, however, be pointed out that there is no express declaration of Scripture which says in so many words that this daring Rebel will be “a Jew;” nevertheless, the hints given are so plain, the conclusions which must be drawn from certain statements of Holy Writ are so obvious, and the requirements of the case are so inevitable, that we are forced to believe he must be a Jew. To these hints’, conclusions’ and requirements’ we now turn.

1. In Ezek.21:25-27 we read: “and thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end, Thus saith the Lord God; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: and it shall be no more until he comes whose right it is, and I will give it him.” The dispensational place and scope of this passage, is not hard to determine. The time-mark is given in v.25: it is “when iniquity shall have an end.” It is the End-Time which is in view, then, the End of the Age, when “the transgressors are come to the full” (Dan.8:23 and cf.11:36 — “Till the indignation be accomplished”). At that time Israel shall have a Prince, a Prince who is crowned (v.26), and a Prince whose day is said to be come when “iniquity shall have an end.” Now, as to who this Prince is, there is surely no room for doubt. The only Prince whom Israel will have in that day, is the Son of Perdition, here termed their Prince because he will be masquerading as Messiah the Prince (see Dan.9:25)! Another unmistakable mark of identification is here given, in that he is expressly denominated “thou, profane wicked Prince” — assuredly, it is the Man of Sin who is here in view, that impious one who shall “oppose and exalt himself above all that is called God.” But what should be noted particularly, is, that this profane and wicked character is here named “Prince of Israel.” He must, therefore, be of the Abrahamic stock, a Jew!

2. In Ezek.28:2-10 a remarkable description is given us of the Antichrist under the figure of “the Prince of Tyrus,” just as in vv.12-19 we have another most striking delineation of Satan under the figure of “the king of Tyrus.” In a later chapter we hope to show that, beyond a doubt, it is the Antichrist who is in view in the first section of this chapter. There is only one thing that we would now point out from this passage: in v.10 it is said of him “Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised,” which is a very strong hint that he ought not to die the deaths of the “uncircumcised” because he belonged to the Circumcision! Should it be said that this verse cannot apply to the Antichrist because he will be destroyed by Christ Himself at His coming, the objection is very easily disposed of by a reference to Rev.13:14, which tells of the Antichrist being wounded to death by a sword and rising from the dead — which is prior to his ultimate destruction at the hands of the Saviour.

3. In Dan.11:36, 37 we are told, “And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers.” This passage, it is evident, refers to and describes none other than the coming Antichrist. But what we wish to call special attention to is the last sentence quoted — “The God of his fathers.” What are we to understand by this expression? Why, surely, that he is a Jew, an Israelite, and that his fathers after the flesh were Abraham, Isaac and Jacob — for such is the invariable meaning of “the fathers” throughout the Old Testament Scriptures.

4. In Matt.12:43-45 we have another remarkable scripture which will be considered briefly, in a later section of this chapter, when we shall endeavor to show that “The Unclean Spirit” here is none other than the Son of Perdition, and that the “house” from which he goes out and into which he returns, is the Nation of Israel. If this can be established, then we have another proof that he will be a Jew, for this “house,” which is Israel, is here termed by Antichrist “my house.” Just as Solomon was of “the House of David,” so Antichrist shall be of the House of Israel.

5. In John 5:43 we have a further word which helps us to fix the nationality of this coming One. In speaking of the false messiah, the Lord Jesus referred to him as follows, “Another shall come in his own name.” In the Greek there are four different words all translated “Another” in our English versions. One of them is employed but once, and a second but five times, so these need not detain us now. The remaining two are used frequently, and with a clear distinction between them. The first “allos” signifies “another” of the same kind or genus — see Matt.10:23; 13:24; 26:71, etc. The second, “heteros,” means “another” of a totally different kind, — see Mark 16:12; Luke 14:31; Acts 7:18; Rom.7:23. Now the striking thing is that the word used by our Lord in John 5:43 is “allos,” another of the same genus, not “heteros,” another of a different order. Christ, the Son of Abraham, the Son of David, had presented Himself to Israel, and they rejected Him; but “another” of the same Abrahamic stock should come to them, and him they would “receive.” If the coming Antichrist were to be a Gentile, the Lord would have employed the word “heteros;” the fact that He used “allos” shows that he will be a Jew.

6. The very name “Antichrist” argues strongly his Jewish nationality. This title “Antichrist” has a double significance. It means that he will be one who shall be “opposed” to Christ, one who will be His enemy. But it also purports that he will be a mock Christ, an imitation Christ, a pro-Christ, a pseudo Christ. It intimates that he will ape Christ. He will pose as the real Messiah of Israel. In such case he must be a Jew.

7. This mock Christ will be “received” by Israel. The Jews will be deceived by Him. They will believe that he is indeed their long-expected Messiah. They will accept him as such. Proofs of this will be furnished in a later chapter. But if this pseudo Christ succeeds in palming himself off on the Jews as their true Messiah he must be a Jew, for it is unthinkable that they would be deceived by any Gentile.

Ere passing to the next point, we may add, that it was the common belief among Christians during the first four centuries A.D., that the Antichrist would come from the tribe of Dan. Whether this will be the case or no, we do not know. Gen.49:17, 18 may have ultimate reference to this Son of Perdition. Certainly Dan is the most mysterious of all the twelve tribes.

MIXTURE: The Babylonian Gospel

The Babylonian Gospel and mixture is the only message I ever heard. Even five years ago, if you had asked me to tell you what I believed, much of what I told you would have had its roots in Baptist Denominational Distinctives, the Masonic Religion and the Great American Lie. Even after years abroad, where I was confronted by a Gospel not mixed with American Patriotism, much of what I believed was more American than Christian.

My Grandfather was a 33rd Degree Mason and a “Lifetime Deacon” at First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. I do not know how many of the men on that board were Master Masons, but I would imagine that it was a clear majority. This was an upscale church… a church where the Rich and Famous could feel at home.

It was my Grandfather and his Masonic buddies who planned the new Sanctuary as a Greek Temple, designed and built with strict Masonic Architecture…

We would sing the right hymns. The basics of the Gospel were preached, but it was all about walking the aisle, shaking the Preacher’s hand, repeating a canned prayer and getting dunked in the ornate, marble baptistry. With “Once Saved, Always Saved,” as a core doctrine, what you did after that was relatively unimportant. A strict moral code was taught but more from the Masonic point of view than the Gospel. The thrust being that you need to live right because it is good for your country, society and your community, and living right will make you healthy, wealthy and wise.

It was always assumed that if you had walked an aisle, shaken the preacher’s hand, repeated the prayer and got dunked, you were going to Heaven… No one dared question that formula.

Some of the old men in the church had fought in World War One. Most of the adult men had fought in World War Two and or Korea. The young men were going off to Vietnam and returning, often in a box. No matter what the truth about Vietnam, Korea or any other war, if you were a Christian, you supported America, the Flag and the latest war. The most ungodly and unchristian thing a young person could do was to question America. They probably never said it but we all knew that America was the Kingdom of God and God was an American.

The Methodists could lose their salvation, but they too thought that God was an American. The Presbyterians knew that God was an American and a Presbyterian… We all could agree that to be a good American was very important and that if America did it, it was God’s will and God’s way.

On the Fourth of July, the National Guard Color Guard would march the American Flag down the Aisle and we would all stand and sing the National Anthem as they stood at attention, flags in hand… The Pride was palpable…

At Christmas, the children would perform a passion play, baby Jesus in the manger, under the Christmas Tree…

For Easter, we would hold a Sunrise Service. That was followed, at Sunday School time, by an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and then the 11:00 Church Service where we would all sing “Hallelujah, He arose!” at the top of our lungs…

Then, I went off and became Pentecostal… I spoke in tongues, prophesied and saw real miracles… But they were still sold on the America thing, Christmas Trees and the Easter Bunny. More than that, they were frightened and legalistic to the max. I could tell how spiritual a man was by looking at his wife. If she was ugly, wore dresses to the floor, kept her head covered and wore neither jewelry nor makeup… that was a Holy and Righteous man!

The question that continually surfaced was, “If I get in an accident and I say a bad word and I die before I can repent, will I go to Hell?” Not pleasant people to be around…

Over the last twenty years, I have watched Pentecostals go through a great change. They started a rapid flight away from legalism. Unfortunately, they passed the truth going ninety miles an hour and slid right into what some have called “Sloppy Agape.” The current, approved term is Hyper-Grace. This is a politicly-correct religion… You NEVER preach on sin or call for repentance. You preach on the importance of accepting everybody and offending nobody. Scriptures to be read and sermons to be preached are carefully scrutinized. If there is any way that a verse could offend anybody, it is not read. If there is an offensive phrase or word in a sermon, it is scratched out and never spoken. Only Happy Verses and Happy sermons are allowed.

It no longer matters what you wear. As a Sailor, a lifetime ago, I saw Pole Dancers better dressed than some of the young ladies in church…

Altar-Calls are for Happy Prophecy, Blessing and Miracles, NEVER for repentance or salvation.

But still, the lie of American Patriotism pervades the American Church. You cannot be a Good Christian if you are not a strong patriot. You cannot have a cross unless it is draped with a flag…

President Trump must be from God… America and the Kingdom of God are one and the same… God is American and Jesus lounges around Heaven in red, white and blue pajamas… Surely Trump is a Prince, sent from God to save God’s Country, in her sin, and grant her time and freedom to sin some more…

I see that attitude, in posts and comments on my Facebook Page…

Jesus asked, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8) I am leaning more and more to the negative reply… “No, none or very little.”

If you just go back, with a prayerful attitude, and throwing out everything you were taught, read the Book, you will find that it is very simple and straight forward… I think that you will discover that America is not the Kingdom of God but rather Babylon. Jesus is nothing like what you always thought He was, and being a Christian has nothing at all to do with walking an aisle, shaking a Preacher’s hand, repeating a little prayer and getting dunked in a baptistry…

Not even an ornate, marble baptistry…

BIRTH PAINS, REVELATION 12 AND SEPTEMBER 23…

Birth involves pain and blood. Following the sign of September 23, the Church should expect to suffer pain and bloodshed. The Dragon (now blocked out on the NASA site) is there and waiting. There seem to be as many ideas on the specifics as there are Christians. I am not going to guess the specifics, but there is massive agreement that Pain and Bloodshed follow September 23, 2017.

Revelation 12:

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in labor and agony as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: There was a great fiery red dragon having seven heads and 10 horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. His tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she did give birth he might devour her child. 5 But she gave birth to a Son—a male who is going to shepherd all nations with an iron scepter—and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, to be fed there for 1,260 days.

BIRTH PAINS:

Birth involves pain and blood. Following the sign of September 23, the Church should expect to suffer pain and bloodshed. The Dragon (now blocked out on the NASA site) is there and waiting. There seem to be as many ideas on the specifics as there are Christians. I am not going to guess the specifics, but there is massive agreement that Pain and Bloodshed follow September 23, 2017.

THE DRAGON:

The dragon tries to devour the Child (Jesus) but is unsuccessful. The Child is taken up into Heaven and the woman goes to a place in the wilderness, that God has prepared for her. Pretribbers want to say that this is the Church, taken off to Heaven. Please note that the Woman escapes into “The Wilderness.” If you want to call Heaven a “wilderness” go ahead. I believe that this is speaking of Israel but I do not claim to “Know.” The Dragon is the Devil and he is cast to earth (That makes him mad!)

Revelation 12:

The Dragon Thrown Out of Heaven

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought, but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

DANIEL:

12:1 At that time Michael the great prince who stands watch over your people will rise up.There will be a time of distress such as never has occurred since nations came into being until that time. But at that time all your people who are found written in the book will escape. 2 Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, and some to shame and eternal contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the bright expanse of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Daniel places the Resurrection of the dead and the Rapture at the time of the War between Michael and Satan. Does that mean on that day, during that time period or at the end of that time period? I do not know, I suspect that it is during or at the end of that time period and not on the day it starts.

Daniel speaks of a war. It seems, from what John writes, that that war starts on the day of the sign of the Sign of the Son of Man. That would be the 23rd of September 2017. Wars do not happen in a day. How long will that conflict take and on what day will the Devil and his angels be cast down? I do not know. Could it be on September 23? Yes, but I do not think so.

Daniel speaks of weeks. I am of the school that believes that the first half of that week happened during the ministry of Jesus. Three and a half years from his Baptism to his Ascension. That would leave three and a half years, not seven. That might be wrong but the seven years comes out of the Pre-Trib Doctrine and the idea that the Christians will be in Heaven for a seven-year Marriage Supper… That is not necessarily Scriptural.

NOTE:

At any rate, part of the things happening in Revelation 12 happened at the first coming of Jesus and part will be completed this time. Think of it as one sign, split into two time periods, not two separate signs. Jesus comes twice and so does the sign. The first time, the sign signaled the birth of Jesus. This time the sign signals the beginning of the end. The first time, there were 33 years between his birth and his ascension. This time, there are either three and a half years or seven years between the sign and Armageddon. Could it be even as much as 33 years? Anything is possible but I believe that we are looking at seven years at the most.

I have even thought that it is possible that the first three and a half years are the war with Michael and Satan, and that the Great Tribulation could be three and a half years, starting the day that Satan is cast to earth. That is a possibility. The three and a half years of war in the Heavens could produce many wild and crazy things there… things that Jesus spoke of concerning our times.

WARNING:

The Jews were fully convinced of, and all their books spoke of, a Messiah, who would arrive with the sign of the Son of Man. This Messiah would ride into Jerusalem on a White Horse, raise an army and route the Romans, restoring sovereignty to Israel and reestablishing David’s Throne. They had many long and complicated arguments by which they manipulated the Scriptures and made them say that; not unlike the arguments for a Pre-Trib Rapture.

A huge problem we have today is that the Pre-Tribbers have thrown the idea of a Rapture at every date and every sign. They did that so forcefully and so successfully that people believed them. When the sign came and there was no rapture, they threw out the sign, deciding that if there was no rapture, the sign was not a sign. The Sign however, was valid, things did happen, it was just never about the Rapture.

The Pre-Trib Rapture has become our “Messiah on a White Horse.” The Jews were so convinced of their White Horse Hero, that when the sign came and there was no Rider on a White Horse, they decided that the sign was phony. Jesus was born in Bethlehem but they never found him… they were too busy crying over the Messiah who did not come. When September 23 comes and goes and there is no rapture, tens of thousands will take to Facebook to call the sign a fake. The sign isn’t a fake, the Doctrine of a Pre-Trib Rapture is a false doctrine…

I do not know if we will see anything on the 23rd. What I do know is that a war in the Heavens will start that day and that war will have grave consequences on the earth… Everything, following that date will get much worse, very quickly. I would not be surprised if something happens, on that day, that leads to a nuclear conflict and the prophesied “One Hour Destruction” of Babylon… But, it will be a process as much as or more than an event. Harvey followed the Eclipse. Destruction follows the Sign of the Son of Man.”

THESE ARE LABOR PAINS; THE BABY IS COMING!
