I WANT A FRIEND!

“You must not marry or have sons or daughters in this place.” Jeremiah 16:2

Prophets, in Scripture, were very lonely men. Jeremiah was told not to marry… When a Prophet or a Watchman speaks, his words, even when not a direct Word from God, are heavy and hard to digest… they burn. Christians always want the Man of God to lighten up… Whatever the watchman says is answered with unrelated comments.

  • Watchman: “You need to get right with God. This Nation is about to fall and you are about to lose everything you own but you can smile, Jesus is coming soon!”
  • Church Member: “Did you see the Dallas game?”
  • Watchman: “Seriously, the United States has to fall. Scripture tells us that we will see the Kingdom of the Antichrist. That New World Order, as they call it, cannot rise unless the United States falls.”
  • Church Member: “You missed it? They are playing again today and it is going to be a great game!”
  • Watchman: “Listen! The nation is about to fall and a Great Deception is coming. If you are not right with God, you will be deceived and end up in Hell!”
  • Church member: “You really believe that? I don’t think that there really is a Hell and Bennie Hinn says everything is going to get better. I sent him a big offering and I keep watching that old mailbox… My check is in the mail!

And I replied, “Oh no, Lord God! The prophets are telling them, ‘You won’t see sword or suffer famine. I will certainly give you true peace in this place.’” Jeremiah 14:13

I do not have many face to face friends. I can’t help it… “Out of the heart, the mouth speaks.” My heart is on fire…

But the Lord said to me, “These prophets are prophesying a lie in My name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, worthless divination, the deceit of their own minds…” Jeremiah 14:14

Jesus is a friend and I am very grateful for my Facebook friends who know what I am talking about…

WHITEWASH

“‘Because they lead my people astray, saying, “peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?”

There have always been false prophets… They always preach blessing, prosperity, peace, safety and security, they always smile, never say anything negative and they always get good offerings… They are known for selling God’s blessings, miracles and healings for a price. They are the first to die and they die the cruelest deaths imaginable when the hammer falls and they, and their followers always end up in Hell…

Real prophets say nasty things, prophecy doom and gloom, and always call for repentance and righteousness. They could starve on the offerings they receive, they are poor, dirty, live solitary lives, often in the wilderness, they are hated and despised. They live through the Judgment and they and those who listen to them, go to Heaven when they die.

I wonder, which kind of Prophet should I be?

Ezekiel 13:

3 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! 4 Your prophets, Israel, are like jackals among ruins. 5 You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord. 6 Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. Even though the Lord has not sent them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfill their words. 7 Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?

8 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.

10 “‘Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, 11 therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. 12 When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?”

13 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger hailstones and torrents of rain will fall with destructive fury. 14 I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the Lord. 15 So I will pour out my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you, “The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it, 16 those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.”’

Think about it…
