The Show that is the Ukraine

What a show! Did you know that the President of the Ukraine was a standup comedian and a TV actor before running for President? He had no political experience, but he did play the role of an ordinary citizen who was suddenly elevated to the position of the President of the Ukraine This was his most famous role as an actor!

This is a scripted show… Yes, people are dying in the Ukraine… A good part of the reason the Ukraine is being invaded is to lower the world’s population by killing off useless eaters… But this whole thing is being scripted by the folks who make phone calls to world leaders and tell them what to do today… This is all about bringing in the Kingdom of the Beast / New World Order.

ALLAH’S JESUS

DAVID A. RICE

JERUSALEM

Hell stared out through human eyes. Satan, the ancient enemy, now incarnate in the body of a man called Jesus. It was the ultimate coup; in the battle that had raged since before time, he was the victor.

He sat at a dressing table in the Royal Waiting Room. Like the surrounding temple, the room was magnificent. The trappings of royalty surrounded him, gold and silver, jewels, priceless rugs, and paintings worth millions of Euros abounded in overstuffed abandon.

He was no Shepherd born in a stable; he would have none of that.

As he stared at the human face in the mirror, he thought how the open wound above his right eye made him look like that Shepherd from Galilee. Although not scarred beyond recognition, he too would have a visible scar. It pleased him to think that this was a more handsome body than the Nazarene had used. This body was tall and solidly built. Light skinned with the features of an Arab prince. Only that open sore kept the visage from being perfect. The wound proved the resurrection; it was enough.

This book is out of date and I no longer believe the story…

That said, it is a good story… You can buy it on Amazon or click the link and read the original manuscript for free…

THE ROLL

Jim is dead. I left him in the other building. He sits there still, frozen forever, staring, eyes wide open, at the graffiti on the wall.

I love a challenge. Creative writing has been suggested to Cathy as therapy. Last night, she showed me a site with 300 starts for short stories… Alone in an abandoned warehouse was the one that fascinated me…

Lying in bed, I wrote this story in my mind. This morning, I sat down and typed it out.

SPOILER: This is NOT distinctly Christian. You may be shocked to discover that I can write the kind of story that ends up in Reader’s Digest… Please, no offence intended…

This then, is the story…

THE ROLL

David A. Rice

Jim is dead. I left him in the other building. He sits there still, frozen forever, staring, eyes wide open, at the graffiti on the wall. Always the brave one, Jim climbed the ladder fastened to the wall in that abandoned warehouse, in that godless, frozen tundra. Climbing out onto an exposed beam, he looked so proud. When that ancient log gave way, I watched the terror on his face, all the way to the ground.

Jim was my best friend. I still don’t know why. I have a PhD from Harvard. Back when London was still warm in the summers, I did graduate work at Oxford. Not Jim, he couldn’t wait to get out of school. He got a job at a cabinet factory and soon started his own company. He was an accomplished carpenter and an adventurer at heart. He somehow found pleasure in dragging me along on his adventures. I would complain, but somehow, I always went along.

When we left Pensacola headed north, it was nine degrees and blowing snow. Back in the twenties, we could have never imagined that. Everyone spoke of global warming. When the snow and freezing weather came, the weatherman on TV would call it “Climate Change”, right on que. Then, that crazy space rock hit and knocked the whole world sideways. Now, it freezes in north Florida by September, and they built a wall all the way across the I-4 corridor to keep the Yankees out. Damned Yankees.

I remember looking up from my phone every once in a while, watching the frozen wasteland that once was Alabama pass by. Later, we went through a big city and turned west. The sun poked through the clouds as it set. I know we were headed west. What city was that? I don’t really know, nor did I ever notice the highway signs; that was Jim’s job.

I remember that the roads grew smaller, not so wide. The last road was full of potholes, most uncomfortable. Then the dilapidated sign by the destroyed gate. The sign said something about cotton and the letters, “LLC”. I remember that. Beyond that, I have no idea where I am.

The building was an old warehouse. Empty now, there was no sign as to what it once held. The graffiti on the walls was old, from back in the Twenties when it was warm. One drawing was well done, a football helmet with the number 29 and the words, 2022 Champions. No one would come out here now, only fools like Jim and their friends like me, no smarter than they.

Jim sort of slid down that post. When he landed, it supported him and he remained sitting, his eyes glassed over, mouth open in a silent scream. I couldn’t stay there. I ran from the building, looking for the Jeep. It was old, they didn’t build cars after 2022, but it was sturdy and well maintained. The snow had covered our tracks and I had no idea where that vehicle was. I wish I had paid attention.

I ran, fighting my way through the snow. I didn’t find the Jeep, but I came to another building. This is a massive warehouse, much larger than the first. I would think it more than a hundred yards long, sixty yards wide, and maybe three stories tall. Like Jim’s mausoleum, it is empty. Here, there is no sign of graffiti, no signs of its former glory. The only sign that people have been here is a crudely constructed firepit, a few rocks in a circle, near the center of the floor. You can see ashes on the bottom, but no wood. There are piles of snow here and there. I look up and see holes in the tin roof that correspond to those piles. It is cold, bitter cold.

Through a crack in the wall, I see an old tree, collapsed and lying in the snow. I have a lighter. I am one of the few who holds onto tobacco; it calms my nerves. Better to die with calm nerves than to live in a nervous fit. If I can only get to that wood, I can light a fire.

Making my way back to those huge open doors, I exit, turn the corner, and fight my way through waste deep snow to the tree. At least this is easy, the wood has been cut by a former camper. I gather as many sticks as I can carry and head back. Walking from the doors to the firepit, I realize that in my struggle through the snow, I have dropped at least half of my firewood. I hadn’t noticed.

The little fire roared, and for an hour or so I was warm. When the fire was dying, I threw in my backpack. It burned too quickly, and I cried when I saw that Oxford sticker burn. Now, it is cold and dark. Nights are fourteen hours long now. This could be bad. I wonder if I will see the sun again.

My phone has no service here, but the clock tells me it is midnight. The wind has come up and it is howling and screeching through the tin. I am colder than I have ever been. I listen to the wind, somehow it is soothing. The sound is like an owl with super lungs, he hoots but never runs out of breath.

Now the sound is changing… almost like a voice singing in the distance. It sounds like my mother singing. She had a beautiful voice, and she always sang in the choir. No, this cannot be, it is my mother! I hear her clearly now. Yes, I know that song, “When the Role is Called Up Yonder”. It is beautiful and it calms my soul. For the first time since Jim fell, I feel real peace. It is not so cold now. Somehow warmth is creeping into me. I am comfortable now.

“Yes Mama, when the roll is called up yonder, I will be there.” I feel so comfortable, Mama has been joined by a choir of angels, the song is overwhelming, I am crying tears of joy!

Suddenly, I feel the little panic of a schoolboy. “I’ve got to go!” I cry, “They are calling the roll now!”

Johns Hopkins Researchers: Lockdowns Had Little Impact on COVID Deaths

Johns Hopkins Researchers: Lockdowns Had Little Impact on COVID Deaths…

MY NOTE: No one in their right mind could have ever imagined that they would.

Johns Hopkins University researchers say lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little to no impact in reducing COVID-19 deaths.According to a new analysis of dozens of scientific studies, the lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by about 0.2%.”We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” the researchers wrote.

The lockdowns did have “devastating effects” on the economy, however, and contributed to numerous social ills, the paper noted.

“They have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence and undermining liberal democracy,” the researchers said.

“Such a standard benefit-cost calculation leads to a strong conclusion: Lockdowns should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument,” the paper concluded.

By preaching only happy verses, ignoring “If” clauses, curses and warnings, we have built a religion properly called Occultianity. Through offerings, positive thinking and the use of Power Verses, we are told that the Devil will be forced to flee and God can be made to do our will… It is all about wealth and life on earth… The God of this World has become the God in our churches.

Rapture Timing

Eisegesis, driven by irrational fear and unmitigated wishful thinking, is a powerful tool of deception and perhaps the greatest weapon of the Devil…

Fear and Wishful Thinking

The greater my commitment to the truth and longer I search for truth, the more convinced I am that no one ever goes to the Scripture with an open heart and mind and comes away believing in a PreTrib Rapture.

Those who believe in a PreTrib Rapture were taught the doctrine of a PreTrib Rapture before they ever went to the Scriptures. Without exception, they go to the Bible already fully convinced of a PreTrib Rapture and determined to prove that which they already believe.

This is called eisegesis. Eisegesis is unilaterally condemned and universally applied. We start with what we believe and search the Scriptures for verses and passages that would seem to support our preconceived notions…

Although PreTrib is not the only example of that, i.e. we might include infant baptism or eternal security, PreTrib is the most egregious example. Driven by an unrealistic fear of the Tribulation and wishful thinking, the list of prooftexts collected by the PreTrib believers is awesome. Hundreds of verses collected in dozens of combinations… Prooftext on top of Prooftext.

But the reality remains, several websites have been offering thousands of dollars to anyone who can come up with any verse or passage that places the Rapture before the Tribulation. They are all still in possession of their funds. The truth is that no such verse or passage exists.

What the PreTribbers give us are lists of verses that say that God is good, combined with verses that say that there will be a rapture. They say that we are not destined for wrath, but the passage they quote juxtaposes that wrath with Heaven. The opposite of Heaven is not the Tribulation but Hell and the everlasting Lake of Fire.

Nowhere do they find anything that remotely indicates that God must rapture us before the Tribulation. In fact, the opposite is true; Scripture clearly indicates that we will go through tribulation, that we will be hated by all nations, that we will be handed over to be killed, and even that it is our own relatives who will betray us…

Revelation tells us that the Antichrist will make war against the Saints and overcome them… Nowhere, outside of the Left Behind books and movies, will you find mention of anything like a “Tribulation Saint”. These Saints are the Church of Jesus Christ…

1 Corinthians 15:52 tells us that we will be gathered “at the last trump.” The last trump sounds when Jesus descends at Armageddon… If you insist on a PreTrib Rapture you must accept that having been raptured, we are somehow returned to earth and grave in order to be raised at the Last Trump!

2 Thessalonians 2 tells us that we cannot be gathered to the Lord until after the Man of Sin is revealed. It even tells us that he will be revealed when he sits in the Temple, as if he were God, proclaiming himself to be God. Until and unless you see that happen, you cannot be gathered to him… That is plain as day.

Mark 13:27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

In the passage from Matthew, the gathering of the Elect is specifically and undisputedly placed “Immediately after the tribulation of those days…”

No, if you go to the Bible with an open heart and an open mind, you will understand that the Rapture cannot happen before the Tribulation… Clear and plain Scripture makes that impossible. If, on the other hand, you are convinced of a PreTrib Rapture, you will go to the Bible to prove it and you will end up with a string of verses that say that there will be a rapture and another string of verses that say that God is good… You will mix up those lists and insist that your list proves that the Rapture has to be before the Tribulation…

Eisegesis, driven by irrational fear and unmitigated wishful thinking, is a powerful tool of deception and perhaps the greatest weapon of the Devil…

FINAL AUTHORITY

Satan loves, absolutely adores, Bible verses ripped from context and half-truths…

2 Corinthians 11: 12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Thirty something years ago, I was an English Teacher in a school in Queretaro, deep in the heart of Mexico. A few blocks from my school was a large Catholic Seminary. A couple of young priests, teachers in that Seminary, who had dreams of becoming priests in a church in the United States, became my best students. One of them explained, “A vow of poverty in the United States is not the same thing as a vow of poverty in Mexico!”

Being invited to lunch at the Seminary, on multiple occasions, led to discussions on theology, doctrine, and Christianity. Sometimes we had friendly debates that went on for hours. Eventually, we decided to talk about football and not theology. We concluded that having a different authority made those conversations impossible.

Let me explain. When I would say, “The Bible says…” they would answer “But Pope Schmidt said…” Or  “But the Church Council at the Beach said…” When they said “Pope Jones said…” I would answer “But the Bible says…” For me, the Bible was the final authority in all things. If the Pope said something that contradicted plain Scripture, the Pope was wrong. For them, if what the Pope said contradicted plain Scripture, the Bible was wrong. At that level, there is no meaningful communication.

For many Evangelicals, the final authority is their preacher, their denomination, or a certain Televangelist. For others, it is a voice in their head that they have identified as God. Still others have concocted an absolute doctrine based on a handful of Scripture verses, isolated and devoid of context. Whatever their authority, any Scripture that challenges that authority is wrong and the one who preaches it is their enemy.

As Bible believing Christians, we may argue over interpretations of Scripture. Our arguments are different… We compare Scripture with Scripture. Often, we pull in alternate translations  and understandings of Hebrew or Greek words. Sometimes we go back to the old commentaries and see what the old Bible scholars had to say about a passage. In the end, we may still disagree, but the Bible remains our final authority. Most often, our arguments are on peripheral issues and not in matters dealing with Salvation. A Baptist and a Methodist may argue over sprinkling or emersion, but in the end, that is not a salvation issue.

Sometimes, or perhaps often, our arguments are over semantics. We are simply using different words to express the same thought. Sometimes it is language. As an outside example, one man can argue that the word “ya” means yes. His friend may insist that “ya” means already. They are both right, but one is translating German and the other Spanish. “Ya” means already in Spanish, but yes in German. So many of our debates are based on different understandings of words. I think that I understand the word “all”. When I begin to talk with a Calvinist, I quickly come to understand that to the Calvinist, the word “all” means “all who have been predestined to be saved.” We are both quoting Scripture, but to me, the language of Scripture is to be taken in its most common understanding. To the Calvinist, words mean what John Calvin said that they mean. Such things can lead to some very silly sounding conversations.

Whatever you believe, you must understand that for me, Scripture is the ultimate authority. Even the voice in my head that identifies itself as “God” is subject to Scripture. Even Scripture must be taken in context and Scripture must always be compared to other Scriptures…

Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and many have mistaken the Light of Lucifer for the Glory of God. Satan loves, absolutely adores, Bible verses ripped from context and half-truths… Satan will call himself “God” or “Jesus” or the “Holy Spirit” and he will quote a verse, misinterpret it, and question it… The biblically ignorant Christian, like Adam and Eve in the Garden, is fair game, and Satan has stolen many souls with his questions and his blatant eisegesis… For me, everything must pass the Scriptural test and Scripture must be taken in context and compared with other Scripture.

If every time I quote Scripture, you answer “But I think…” or “But I believe…”, our conversation will end abruptly. If I make the voice in my own heart pass the test of Scripture, please understand that I cannot accept the voice in your head as an authority and that I am convinced that even if you identify that voice as God Almighty, if what you say contradicts plain Scripture, I will reject it and call you deceived…

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Really!!!

PARABLES, PROGNOSTICATION, AND PROPHECY

No, there never was a certain man who went down to Jericho and no, there was never a Good Samaritan…

“It will rain in Florida next July. I am not a prophet and I am not speaking for God, but based on solid meteorological data and several decades of personal experience, I can confidently predict that rain will fall in Florida next July.”

David A. Rice

If I were to post that on Facebook today, someone would reply: “You are a false prophet. I was in Orlando yesterday and it never rained!”

Let’s look at that.

  1. I said that I am not a prophet and that I am not speaking for God. How can I be a “False Prophet”?
  2. I said in Florida. No, it did not rain in Orlando yesterday, but it did rain in Tallahassee, Tampa, Fort Myers, Key West, and Miami.
  3. I said, “next July”. Yesterday was September 18th of this year.

Perhaps this is why I feel so strongly driven to defend Jonathon Cahn… I suffer the same kind of judgment and receive the same kind of comments that he does… It hurts me, and I would assume that he is not without feeling.

If you are interested, we need to speak of Literary Devices, specifically:

  1. Parables
  2. Prognostication
  3. Prophecy

PARABLES:

No, there never was a certain man who went down to Jericho and no, there was never a Good Samaritan. I hate to burst your bubble, but that was a parable and parables are, by definition, “a fictional story with a moral”. In Cahn’s books, the fellow called “I” is a fictional character; he does not exist in real life. The man called “The Prophet” is a fictional character; he does not exist in real life. The story is fiction, it is a parable. Yet uneducated and uninformed Christians, never reading the introduction, assume that “I” is Jonathon Cahn and “The Prophet” is his “spirit guide” Yes, more than one person has so commented. A Parable is, again, by definition, a fictional story.

PROGNOSTICATION:

Prognostication is using known facts, history, current events, and in the case of the Christian, the Scriptures to produce a reasonable prediction of future events. It is not prophecy. The doctor looks at the tumor in a man’s lung and gives the prognosis, “You have between six months and a year to live.” Is this a prophecy? No, it is prognostication. Having studied much and having had hundreds of cases just like this, the doctor knows that, overall, men with that kind and size of cancer, generally speaking, with few exceptions, die between six months and a year after a similar diagnosis. The probability is that that man will die in that period of time. Could he die in three months? Yes. Could he live eighteen months? Of course, that is the nature of a prognosis. In his books, Cahn gives facts. You can fact check those facts… I have. Then, based on those facts, Cahn, using words like “I think” and “I believe” prognosticates… He gives a “prognosis”. As a matter of fact, he repeatedly states that these are not prophecies, and nothing has to happen. Despite repeated statements that he is not a prophet, Christians still line up to call him a “False Prophet”. I have suffered similar abuse.

PROPHECY:

A Prophet speaks for God. Prophecies begin with phrases like: “Thus saith the Lord…” or “God says that…” or “God told me…” Are there false prophets? Absolutely. One who comes to mind has, in five years, given more than 100 different dates for the Rapture… He has said things like, “God told me that the Rapture will be next Thursday at 3 PM Jerusalem time.” Every time he is wrong, he comes up with a new date. That is a false prophet. If someone, not only does not say that what he is speaking is the Word of the Lord, but repeatedly, and loudly, and clearly states that his prediction is not prophecy and that it is not the Word of the Lord, that person cannot be a false prophet and only the most ignorant and hateful of make believe, pretend, wannabe “Christians” would accuse him of such. Yet both Jonathon Cahn and I have been repeatedly labeled as “false prophets”, this in spite of the fact that both of us have loudly proclaimed that our prognostications are NOT prophecy and that we are NOT prophets and that it does NOT have to happen the way we are predicting. If one is not a prophet, he cannot be a false prophet… Duh!

Literary devices abound… You need to be aware of them and able to identify them. This requires study and, shudder, careful thought.

Think about it…

If you read this far, comment using the word “Device”.
