I address followers advocating for Saturday worship, asserting that the Pope has no power to change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. I cite biblical references to support Sunday worship, emphasize Christian liberty in choosing worship days, and warn against legalism while encouraging personal conviction and understanding in selecting worship days.
Some of my followers are into the Law… Seventh Day Adventists, Hebrew Roots and the like… They are really into Saturday worship and they keep sending me memes and articles explaining why I should go to church on Saturday and informing me that the Pope changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. I am compelled to answer them.
My answer is threefold:
1. The Pope did not, could not, and has not changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. Perhaps in his own mind and the minds of his slaves, but he has no such power. Saturday is the Sabbath and Sunday is the Lord’s Day. Most Christians choose to meet for worship on the Lord’s Day. Legalists, Adventists, Hebrew Roots and others seek to earn Celestial Brownie Points and a ticket to Heaven by insisting on meeting on Saturn’s Day, better known as Saturday.
2. Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread… The first church service recorded in the Bible was held “On the first day of the week”, Sunday… If the church in Acts met on Sunday, I reserve the right to meet and worship with other Christians on Sunday… The Lord’s Day.
3. Romans 14 is the Christian’s Law of Liberty. I have had Hebrew Roots persons argue that Paul was a heretic when I quoted this chapter… Romans 14:5 One person considers one day to be above another day. Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind… I am convinced, in my own mind, that all days, for the Christian, are equal. I choose to meet and worship on Sunday because my brothers and sisters in Christ have chosen to meet on the Lord’s Day and not the Sabbath. I do not believe that Sunday is the Sabbath. If all my friends and family met every Thursday morning at 2 AM, I would have no religious opposition to meeting for worship at 2 AM every Thursday… I might be sleepy and my body might complain, but I would have no Biblical argument against it.
If you want to meet on Saturday… go for it! Just understand that you can loose your salvation by seeking justification through the Law… Galatians 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.
With that in mind, feel free to meet and worship on any day you choose… Just quit telling me that the Pope changed the Sabbath and that I am a catholicized pagan because I worship on the Lord’s Day and not Saturn’s Day.
The separation of the goats from the sheep is in full swing…
The separation of the goats from the sheep is in full swing…
Those who love the good life and look to Trump for salvation and peace are standing with their feet in hardened cement… they will neither look at, nor even think about the Truth; their minds are made up and their loyalty is immovable. They love this world and its pleasures… Heaven is something to talk about at funerals.
Those who love the terrible truth that this world is at its end, are looking towards Heaven with a steadfast gaze. They are prepared to endure Hell on earth. As Paul once wrote, “if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.”
One group is attracted to the cross, wanting to be identified with Jesus in his suffering and death. The other group wants to skip all the pain and know Christ in the power of his resurrection; without the cross…
Not long ago, people were moving freely from one group to the other… The blind were being cured at an incredible rate… Facebook and other social media abounded with the testimonies of those who suddenly saw and embraced the truth… Not anymore.
Today, the groups are tightly closed. The blind remain blind and swell with pride, embracing the lie. No one who sees the truth is backsliding or falling away from the truth.
The goats are in their corral and the sheep in theirs… The gates are fast sliding shut. The Goats are happy to be away from the sheep and the sheep are thrilled to be with their shepherd.
I am pretty sure that the same thing is happening around the world. In America, the wall of partition between those who have embraced America, the good life and Trump, from those who have embraced Jesus, the cross and Heaven, is standing tall and immovable.
Yet perhaps God will give one more chance. When God called Paul, He said, “I will show him those things which he must suffer for my Name’s sake.” If you are willing to trade the good life for suffering, death and a cross, you must ask God, and you must ask him now!
Trump or Jesus… Heaven or Hell… I am not even certain that the option is still open. Still, you should try… Will you be a good citizen and fight for your country or will you choose to wander as a pilgrim and a stranger in a foreign land? The good life or a cross? The peace that comes from blindness and ignorance or the light that exposes the depth of the evil that surrounds you? Heaven or Hell? Those are the questions you must either face or ignore….
Revelation 13:
9 If anyone has an ear, he should listen:
10 If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed with a sword, with a sword he will be killed.
This demands the perseverance and faith of the saints.
Jeconiah, the last heir to David’s throne, reigned briefly and was cursed by God as childless. After nearly 35 years in prison, he was released, married, and had a son, preserving David’s lineage. Ultimately, Jesus Christ descends from this “bad king,” highlighting that hope remains despite dire circumstances.
Jesus Christ would descend from a bad king who spent almost 35 years in prison… There is hope for you…
Jeconiah, who was eighteen years old when he took the throne of Judah, reigned three months and ten days, beginning December 9, 598 BC. He was the last living heir to the throne of David.
Of his reign, the Bible simply states… Jeconiah did evil in the sight of the Lord.
In Jeremiah 22, Jeconiah is cursed by God, who says, 30 Thus says the Lord: “Write this man down as childless, a man who shall not succeed in his days, for none of his offspring shall succeed in sitting on the throne of David and ruling again in Judah.”
But God would have mercy on him and in Matthew, he is listed in the genealogy of Jesus…
Matthew 1:12 And after the deportation to Babylon: Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel…
After three months as king, Nebuchadnezzar II destroyed Jerusalem and took Jeconiah captive.
The young king would spend 34 years, 11 months and 28 days (2 days short of 35 years) in a Babylonian prison. He had no children. Everything looked like God had reneged on his promises… no messiah would come from the line of David.
Then, Nebuchadnezzar died. The new and wicked King Amel-Marduk, released Jeconiah and gave him a seat above all the other kings living in Babylon.
At 52 years of age, Jeconiah would marry and give birth to a son. He would become the grandfather of Zerubbabel, who would return to the land and become the first governor of the restored nation… The lineage of David was preserved and Jesus Christ would descend from a bad king who spent almost 35 years in prison…
Extremists love to quote Scripture out of context.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath…
The extremists always use the first part of the verse and finish it with three little dots…
Did you never wonder what they are so carefully omitting?????
As born again Christians, we are spared from the wrath and judgment of God as concerns our personal sin. However, as with many issues, Christians, and in particular Western Christians, have taken this truth to a heretical extreme.
And yes, truth pushed to the ridicules extreme becomes heresy.
The wrath from which we are saved is not the tribulation, or the wrath of God on the earth in general, it is the wrath poured out in Hell against sinners who have rejected Jesus.
Extremists love to quote Scripture out of context.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath…
The extremists always use the first part of the verse and finish it with three little dots…
Did you never wonder what they are so carefully omitting?????
The whole verse reads “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” Even reading the verse in its entirety tells you that it is speaking of salvation versus damnation. If you read the entire passage, you cannot ever make that mean the wrath of God poured out on a sinful world in the tribulation. In its proper context, wrath is the opposite of salvation. We are speaking of Heaven and Hell, not the tribulation…
But… Pretribbers needed a proof text and the first half of that verse, removed from context, would work to support their fantasy, and it is such a happy lie!
When God judges nations and peoples, Christians often get hurt. The good news is that God goes through it with them, and when they die, they go to Heaven and not Hell. Many nations have been judged by God and destroyed. When that happened, Christians were hurt and killed. When the river flooded Kerrville, Christians died…
Speaking of the days in which we now live and the days soon to come, Jesus said…
Matthew 24:9 “Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name.
John, writing of Christians living through the Tribulation, penned these words:
Revelation 13:9 If anyone has an ear, he should listen:
10 If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed with a sword, with a sword he will be killed.
This demands the perseverance and faith of the saints. ————————————————————
This demands the perseverance of who??? You!
THE AMERICAN CHURCH HAS LED THE WORLD IN THE GREAT APOSTASY…
To hear the Gospel from the average American preacher is to understand that Jesus died to make you fat, rich and happy in your mansion overlooking downtown Babylon… As long as you attend church, raise your hands, sing loudly, and throw money in the plate, you will be healed of every disease, protected from all harm, and given riches beyond your wildest imagination… If it doesn’t work out that way, it is your fault, not the preacher’s… you either didn’t have enough faith or more likely, didn’t put enough money in the plate…
Get a handle on reality, it isn’t just Stephen, James, Paul and Peter who suffered and died for Jesus, more than seventy million martyrs have followed them and hundreds of Christians are being given the opportunity to suffer and die for Jesus today… Right now!
If you will follow him, God will have you where He wants you, when He wants you to be there. You will suffer what God wills you to suffer and you will die on the day and at the hour He has determined. If you do not follow him, good luck!
There is another verse that heretics love to rip from context and misinterpret… a verse hanging on the wall in many Christian homes… Only again, just the first part of the verse, ending in those famous three dots that represent the part that your preacher likely never read you.
Philippians 3:10 My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection…
Again… Get a handle on reality! Look at the context!
Philippians 3:10 My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.
Context changes everything!!!!!
Is your goal to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, or would you really like to just stop after the first phrase? The truth is that those who do not want to know him in the fellowship of His sufferings or to be conformed to His death, will NEVER know him in the power of his resurrection!
Muses of Sicily, essay we now A somewhat loftier task! Not all men love Coppice or lowly tamarisk: sing we woods, Woods worthy of a Consul let them be. Now the last age by Cumae’s Sibyl sung Has come and gone, and the majestic roll Of circling centuries begins anew: Justice returns, returns old Saturn’s reign, With a new breed of men sent down from heaven. Only do thou, at the boy’s birth in whom The iron shall cease, the golden race arise, Befriend him, chaste Lucina; ’tis thine own Apollo reigns. And in thy consulate, This glorious age, O Pollio, shall begin, And the months enter on their mighty march. Under thy guidance, whatso tracks remain Of our old wickedness, once done away, Shall free the earth from never-ceasing fear. He shall receive the life of gods, and see Heroes with gods commingling, and himself Be seen of them, and with his father’s worth Reign o’er a world at peace. For thee, O boy, First shall the earth, untilled, pour freely forth Her childish gifts, the gadding ivy-spray With foxglove and Egyptian bean-flower mixed, And laughing-eyed acanthus. Of themselves, Untended, will the she-goats then bring home Their udders swollen with milk, while flocks afield Shall of the monstrous lion have no fear. Thy very cradle shall pour forth for thee Caressing flowers. The serpent too shall die, Die shall the treacherous poison-plant, and far And wide Assyrian spices spring. But soon As thou hast skill to read of heroes’ fame, And of thy father’s deeds, and inly learn What virtue is, the plain by slow degrees With waving corn-crops shall to golden grow, From the wild briar shall hang the blushing grape, And stubborn oaks sweat honey-dew. Nathless Yet shall there lurk within of ancient wrong Some traces, bidding tempt the deep with ships, Gird towns with walls, with furrows cleave the earth. Therewith a second Tiphys shall there be, Her hero-freight a second Argo bear; New wars too shall arise, and once again Some great Achilles to some Troy be sent. Then, when the mellowing years have made thee man, No more shall mariner sail, nor pine-tree bark Ply traffic on the sea, but every land Shall all things bear alike: the glebe no more Shall feel the harrow’s grip, nor vine the hook; The sturdy ploughman shall loose yoke from steer, Nor wool with varying colours learn to lie; But in the meadows shall the ram himself, Now with soft flush of purple, now with tint Of yellow saffron, teach his fleece to shine. While clothed in natural scarlet graze the lambs. ‘Such still, such ages weave ye, as ye run,’ Sang to their spindles the consenting Fates By Destiny’s unalterable decree. Assume thy greatness, for the time draws nigh, Dear child of gods, great progeny of Jove! See how it totters- the world’s orbed might, Earth, and wide ocean, and the vault profound, All, see, enraptured of the coming time! Ah! might such length of days to me be given, And breath suffice me to rehearse thy deeds, Nor Thracian Orpheus should out-sing me then, Nor Linus, though his mother this, and that His sire should aid- Orpheus Calliope, And Linus fair Apollo. Nay, though Pan, With Arcady for judge, my claim contest, With Arcady for judge great Pan himself Should own him foiled, and from the field retire. Begin to greet thy mother with a smile, O baby-boy! ten months of weariness For thee she bore: O baby-boy, begin! For him, on whom his parents have not smiled, Gods deem not worthy of their board or bed.
People keep insisting that there is…
A last trump before the last trump.
A first resurrection before the first resurrection
A rapture before the tribulation.
People keep insisting that there is… A last trump before the last trump. A first resurrection before the first resurrection A rapture before the tribulation.
Jesus said the dead will be raised “After the Tribulation” He never spoke of any other. Paul says that the dead will be raised at the Last Trump. He never explained that it really wasn’t the Last Trump… Like a last before the last kind of thing… Paul says we cannot be raptured before the dead are raised. He never mentions any exceptions. John witnesses a resurrection after the tribulation and calls it the “First Resurrection”…
Where are the Scriptures that tell us that “Last doesn’t really mean last” and “First doesn’t really mean first” and “After” doesn’t really mean after” ???????????????????????????????????????????
I know God is good. I know the Rapture happens. I know that tribulation is bad. That does not prove a PreTrib Rapture…
Before you decide that God has to rapture you before you get hurt… Remember Paul’s sufferings and death, Stephen, James, and more than seventy million Christian Martyrs since…
Why, if God let them suffer and die, do you think that you are so much better than they ever were, that God just has to rapture you before you get hurt?????
There is an awful power in the doctrine you are taught…
There is an awful power in the doctrine you are taught…
A Mormon preacher can allow his people to read the Bible without fear… He knows that whatever they read, they will interpret it in such a way as to make it agree with Mormon doctrine…
If you ask students from Baptist backgrounds, Methodist backgrounds, and Assemblies of God backgrounds, to write a term paper telling you what a particular Bible passage means… you will look at those papers and truly believe that they were all reading totally different stories, from very different books…
I have done so… It is amazing!
Invariably, they will twist the Scripture and interpret it in a manner consistent with the doctrine they have been taught for so many years…
One of the most difficult things a Bible teacher has to do is to convince students to tell them what a verse or a passage actually says and not what their preacher told them that it said…
If you will ask God for help and determine in your heart to read the Bible and understand what it actually says… You will be in shock and awe for weeks or months… It is absolutely amazing to find out that the Bible does not agree with the assumptions and presuppositions of that most holy doctrine once laid on you…
I promise you… You will be surprised and amazed by what the Bible actually says…
Jesus speaks of a cross, of self-denial, suffering and death…
Trump speaks of Saving America, Peace, Security, and preserving your cushy, comfortable, and easy way of life…
Jesus speaks of a cross, of self-denial, suffering and death…
Trump speaks of Saving America, Peace, Security, and preserving your cushy, comfortable, and easy way of life…
Robert Frost wrote… Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth…
There are two distinctly different paths… Will you deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus, or will you follow Trump and make peace, security, and the salvation of your comfortable lifestyle your passion and your goal?
2 Thessalonians 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
The truth spoken of here in 2 Thessalonians, is the truth in the Scripture concerning the end times and the great deception…
They reject the words of Jesus and believe Donald Trump…
They remain willfully ignorant of the biblical descriptions of the Man of Sin and the Beast, preferring to believe the Hollywood version…
They prefer Left Behind to Revelation…
They have never accepted Scripture as absolute truth…
When Donald Trump fulfills every single biblical description of the Man of Sin, speaks flatteries and blasphemies, and repeats the same lies over and over, they prefer his message to the Scripture because he is skilled in telling them what they desperately want to hear…
Heaven, to them, is a vague reality spoken of at funerals, but saving America and their cushy lifestyle is their overwhelming passion…
The whole idea of taking up their cross and dying to themselves is unacceptable and the idea that they might be called on to suffer or die for Christ is repulsive…
They always prefer the happy lie over the difficult and uncomfortable truth of Scripture…
Jesus is great for Sunday but Trump will save America and preserve their life of ease…
So, which path will you follow?
One leads to deception, great disappointment and an eternal Hell… The other to a cross, suffering, death, and eternal life with the One who died on a cross to save your soul…
This is NOT the “Happy Gospel” of “Five Power Verses, Huge Offerings, and Material Wealth…”
This is the Gospel that cost ten Disciples, Paul the Apostle, and seventy million martyrs since their lives, while millions more were beaten, tortured and imprisoned…
This post discusses themes of purification and reduction through biblical references, emphasizing Jesus’ message about the refining nature of fire and the winnowing of wheat. It highlights Isaiah’s call to preach, suggesting that truthful preaching can be painful but ultimately leads to a holy remnant, symbolized by the stump.
Jesus spoke of the refiner’s fire… FIRE HURTS FIRE REDUCES
Jesus spoke of winnowing wheat… WINNOWING WASTES WINNOWING REDUCES
In Isaiah chapter six, God calls Isaiah, Isaiah accepts the call and then…
God tells him to preach until everything burns up… START PREACHING TO A GREEN TREE PREACH UNTIL NOTHING BUT A STUMP REMAINS PREACHING TRUTH HURTS PREACHING TRUTH REDUCES
THE HOLY SEED IS A STUMP…
Isaiah 6: 13 And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump.
The Lord Has Destroyed Without Pity…
Lamentations 2: 14 Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles that are false and misleading.
HOLD ON, THE FIRE THAT BURNS AND THE WIND THAT SCATTERS IS UPON US!
The day Jesus returns will find the church reduced to a stump… BE OF GOOD CHEER… THAT STUMP IS THE HOLY SEED!
The passage discusses the context of Isaiah 6:8, emphasizing God’s command to deliver a message of judgment to unheeding people. It critiques contemporary preachers who avoid discussing God’s potential punishment for disobedience, contrasting with scriptural warnings and prophecies. The overall theme is the necessity of sincere repentance and awareness of divine consequences.
Isaiah 6:
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
This is one of the most famous verses in the Scripture and many know it by heart… However, very, very few Christians have ever read it in context…
Isaiah 6:
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this people:
“‘Keep on hearing but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ 10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” 11 Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste, 12 and the Lord removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. 13 And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump.
I have had preachers tell me to my face that God would never send sickness, famine or death… Most of us know 2 Chronicles 7:14, but have you ever read verse 13?
2 Chronicles 7:
13 When Ishut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people,
After God contradicts the sloppy-grace preachers, He continues…
14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
BUT…
But preachers somehow always seem to ignore the “but”.
19 “But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21 And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22 Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’”
Jeremiah 14
10 Thus says the Lord concerning this people: “They have loved to wander thus; they have not restrained their feet; therefore the Lord does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins.”
11 The Lord said to me: “Do not pray for the welfare of this people. 12 Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, and though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”
Lying Prophets
13 Then I said: “Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’” 14 And the Lord said to me: “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds. 15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although I did not send them, and who say, ‘Sword and famine shall not come upon this land’: By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed. 16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword, with none to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their evil upon them.
Make a note of this passage in Jeremiah… we will see these words again…
Jeremiah 15:
1Then the Lord said to me, “Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go! 2 And when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go?’ you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord:
“‘Those who are for pestilence, to pestilence, and those who are for the sword, to the sword; those who are for famine, to famine, and those who are for captivity, to captivity.’
The Lord Has Destroyed Without Pity
Lamentations 2: 5 The Lord has become like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel; he has swallowed up all its palaces; he has laid in ruins its strongholds, and he has multiplied in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
13 What can I say for you, to what compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What can I liken to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is vast as the sea; who can heal you?
14 Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles that are false and misleading.
Revelation 13:
6 He began to speak blasphemies against God: to blaspheme His name and His dwelling—those who dwell in heaven. 7 And he was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them. He was also given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation. 8 All those who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.
Pay attention here, you have heard these words before…
9 If anyone has an ear, he should listen:
10 If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed with a sword, with a sword he will be killed.
This demands the perseverance and faith of the saints.
