THE TERRIBLE POWER OF DOCTRINE

There is an awful power in the doctrine you are taught…

There is an awful power in the doctrine you are taught…

A Mormon preacher can allow his people to read the Bible without fear… He knows that whatever they read, they will interpret it in such a way as to make it agree with Mormon doctrine…

If you ask students from
Baptist backgrounds,
Methodist backgrounds,
and Assemblies of God backgrounds,
to write a term paper telling you what a particular Bible passage means…
you will look at those papers
and truly believe
that they were all reading totally different stories,
from very different books…

I have done so… It is amazing!

Invariably, they will twist the Scripture and interpret it in a manner consistent with the doctrine they have been taught for so many years…

One of the most difficult things a Bible teacher has to do is to convince students to tell them what a verse or a passage actually says and not what their preacher told them that it said…

If you will ask God for help and determine in your heart to read the Bible and understand what it actually says… You will be in shock and awe for weeks or months… It is absolutely amazing to find out that the Bible does not agree with the assumptions and presuppositions of that most holy doctrine once laid on you…

I promise you… You will be surprised and amazed by what the Bible actually says…
