CIRCULAR REASONING

People keep insisting that there is…
A last trump before the last trump.
A first resurrection before the first resurrection
A rapture before the tribulation.

People keep insisting that there is…
A last trump before the last trump.
A first resurrection before the first resurrection
A rapture before the tribulation.

Jesus said the dead will be raised “After the Tribulation”
He never spoke of any other.
Paul says that the dead will be raised at the Last Trump.
He never explained that it really wasn’t the Last Trump…
Like a last before the last kind of thing…
Paul says we cannot be raptured before the dead are raised.
He never mentions any exceptions.
John witnesses a resurrection after the tribulation and calls it the
“First Resurrection”…

Where are the Scriptures that tell us that
“Last doesn’t really mean last”
and
“First doesn’t really mean first”
and
“After” doesn’t really mean after”
???????????????????????????????????????????

I know God is good.
I know the Rapture happens.
I know that tribulation is bad.
That does not prove a PreTrib Rapture…

Before you decide that God has to rapture you before you get hurt… Remember Paul’s sufferings and death, Stephen, James, and more than seventy million Christian Martyrs since…

Why, if God let them suffer and die, do you think that you are so much better than they ever were, that God just has to rapture you before you get hurt?????

How big is your ego?

I am a vile sinner. I have been a soldier and a sailor. I have been a student and a teacher. I taught English in Mexico. I started and taught in a Bible College in Venezuela. I am married to Cathy, a beautiful lady from Guyana. We have two children, Christopher and Amanda. I am saved by Grace, washed in the Blood and filled with the Spirit. I love Jesus, my wife, my kids and you...

    1. Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus… We have been raised and we are seated… This is in the present tense… As I type this, I have been, and I am, seated with him in the Heavenly realms. The Bible speaks of our salvation in at least three stages… We have been saved, we are being saved, and we shall be saved. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord… All of the Righteous Dead from the Old Testament, and all of the Redeemed of the New Testament are in Heaven with God. When Christ returns, He will bring them with him and reunite them with their physical bodies, now perfected and eternal. When that happens, when the dead in Christ are raised, we who are alive and remain will rise together with them to meet him in the air, and so shall we ever be…

      1. OK, I just can’t see why you object to the first resurrection being something similar in that it is a spiritual thing (to have died with Him and to have been resurrected with Him) not an actual literal thing – you yourself are still here in physical body and are not physically raised with Him either to be “seated” OR to be “resurrected”, yet you accept that you are raised spiritually? The book of Revelation is not one you can treat literally, it is a visionary revelation. There are no literal multiheaded beasts or suchlike, they are a symbol for something, as also are the events and the chronology they represent. In principle I broadly agree with your objections to various aspects of rapture and trib. etc., just disagreement on the matter of the first resurrection, which I see as being that of Jesus and we being raised with Him (“take part in”) NOW (‘spiritually’) so that we indeed may also be raised with Him THEN (physically). [bodily]. Thanks.

    1. I object because there is not one word of Scripture that supports it. As opposed to an absolute lack of Scripture on that, we have two very strong Scriptures that oppose that idea and call it a lie…

Matthew 24: 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days:

      The sun will be darkened,
      and the moon will not shed its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the celestial powers will be shaken.

30 “Then [which being interpreted means “then”] the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

      AND…

Revelation 20:Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. I also saw the people who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1,000 years were completed.

      This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of the Messiah, and they will reign with Him for 1,000 years.

Faced with these Scriptures and being forced to choose between Scripture and the Left Behind series… I simply choose to believe Jesus and John over Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins…
